The BICO line of downhole Drilling Motors is specifically designed to perform under harsh drilling conditions. BICO’s downhole drilling motors are highly rugged and efficient positive-displacement motors. The motor converts the drilling fluid’s hydraulic energy into mechanical energy in the form of torque and rotational speed. This conversion is accomplished through the use of a spiral rotor that fits into a stator of a similar shape to form a tight seal.

BICO motors are available in configurations ranging from low-speed/high-torque models to our high-speed performance motors. All of these tools incorporate features that reduce maintenance costs, lower inventory requirements and ensure reliable performance.

The BICOROCKET is BICO’s answer to the continued evolution of today’s harsh drilling conditions. The BICOBEAST is BICO’s premier line of downhole Drilling Motors are specifically designed to drill faster and drill longer intervals while performing in harsh drilling conditions. The unparalleled strength and robustness of the motor come from its innovative design, which incorporates proprietary elastomers with EvenWall® technology to withstand hostile drilling environments. BICO provides a wide range of power sections for simple to harsh environment applications through field-proven designs.

The BICO M.A.S.T.E.R. is specifically designed to enhance RSS (Rotary Steerable Systems) performance. Optimum Radial Bearing Clearance Tailored to accommodate the specific hydraulic requirements of RSS tools, BICO M.A.S.T.E.R. Drive features a strict clearance window on its radial bearings. This guarantees maximum flow to the RSS to properly operate the tool, while also greatly reducing the bending stresses imparted on critical components of the motor. Pin-Down Driveshaft – No crossover is needed when running BICO M.A.S.T.E.R. Drive as our driveshafts feature the necessary pin connections. This solution moves the load closer to the radial bearings, reducing the bending stress of the BHA and thus minimizing the risk of failure.

The BICO BLAZER motor series is designed for tele doubles, super singles, Co2 floods, surface drilling, disposal wells, service rigs, workovers, re-entry applications, and HDD (Construction tunnels, Waterways, Pipeline or utility work). Utilizing our SS EvenWall® technology allows the motor to last longer before re-line. This allows for premium performance while bringing down long–term operating costs.

The BICO BRUTE motor series is designed for standard drilling applications where longer service life and increased performance is desired without the price of the ultra-premium BEAST or M.A.S.T.E.R. Utilizing our SS EvenWall® technology allows the motor to last longer with less trips out of the hole. This brings solid, reliable, and consistent performance.

Based on BICO’s proven BEAST technology, STEAM is a further refinement of the motor system specifically designed for geothermal drilling applications. Geothermal Drilling is often more complex and faces more challenging environments. The combination of high temperatures and abrasive rock in corrosive environments requires specially formulated elastomers, more rugged connections and bearing packs, and systems that can withstand this combination of forces.
